60 days to go?!?!

I was informed the other day that I have been neglecting my blog. So I am finally updating it, Kadie :)

I can't believe we only have 60 days left!

I'm up to walking 6 miles, I would have gone further yesterday (I'll get back to that), here's what I've learned so far.

* There needs to be more hours of light in a day. And a few more hours in my day would be great too!

* The first few miles I do great, average about 15 minute miles. After that I don't know if it's that I get tired, bored, or just start walking to the beat of my music and slow down. I made the 6 miles in 1 hour 45 minutes. So I'm estimating 4 hours to finish the 1/2 marathon. Maybe walking in the group will make me walk a little faster. Either way, I'll just be happy to say that I actually finished :)

* Socks. When I first got my shoes I had to wear a thick pair of socks because the back of the shoe poked me in the back of my ankle. Well now that my shoes don't do that anymore, and since I have worn thinner socks at work with said shoes, I thought that it shouldn't matter if I wore thinner socks for my walk yesterday. Yep, wrong choice! By the third mile my shoe was rubbing. Not the back of my shoe, but on my toe. So after the third mile I turned my happy butt around and went back home before I had a full blown blister.

Lesson learned so far ---- wear thick socks with shoes, carry bandaids in pocket just in case
