Only 107 days left until the 1/2 marathon. That's just 15 weeks and 2 days! I looked for some training schedules online and most of them are for 18-24 weeks prior to the walk. (you can run it, but I don't run) I'm starting to think I've lost my mind already! I can do this. How hard can it be? When I went to Disney World two years ago we walked about 6 miles each day, with no training, and I didn't die.
Yesterday I decided that I would get up at 6 and instead of watching the news I would go walk for a little bit. My driveway is 1/3 mile long, so up and down twice is 1 1/3 miles. That's a good start for day 1, right? You know what they say about best laid plans. I figured that it since it was springtime it would be light enough out for me to walk. You know, it's still dark then! Now maybe if I lived in a regular neighborhood I may have went out, but I live in the woods. A walk in the dark, with woods on both sides, and bears (I know they're out there) didn't sound like a good idea. But I didn't give up that easily. I have a bike inside, so I rode for 20 minutes (4 1/2 miles). Ok, I know that's not very long. But this is only day 1!
Plan for tomorrow
Drop Justin off at the bus and walk 20-30 minutes before I need to go to my appointment. We (me, Cam, and Heather) are going to see the Afro's tomorrow so we'll be dancing up a storm. That counts as exercise too! This time I'll remember not to wear heels.....
